The Best Classical Album In The World…

As a long time Beatles fan my bestloved Beatles albums have changed over the years. In fact I may do not forget times when I’ve considered four dissimilar Beatles albums to be my favored at that time. Those four albums were Abbey Road, Sgt Pepper, Revolver, & The White Album. At this point I’ve pretty much settled on The White Album as my all time bestloved because it seems to be the one I never get tired of. The one I keep coming back to.

This is my list of the three greatest Beatles albums of all time. And by the way, please skip the greatest hits albums and get the real deal instead! The Beatles are too outstanding of a band to just get those greatest hits albums. It’s their real studio albums that showcase their splendor best.

#1 The White Album

This 1968 double album includes 30 tracks which represent just with regards to each style of music that had ever existed up to that point. It’s a lesson in what music may be. A traveling through dissimilar styles. And they are all done so well. To me it’s their most timeless album. It still sounds just as critical today as it did over 40 years ago when it was recorded. From the early heavy metal of “Helter Skelter” to the beauteous acoustic ballads like “Blackbird,” “Julia,” & “I Will” to the rock n roll of “Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey” this album actually has it all.

#2 Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

How numerous times have I heard this album is “overrated” or that it’s “date” ? Too a good deal of to keep track of! Obviously I disagree strongly with these opinions. This is a brilliant album that sounds timeless to me, not dated. How may you go defective when your final song is the incomparable “A Day In The Life” ?

#3 Revolver

The songs. Wow. This is an album filled with perfectly stunningly perfective songs. And in the end it’s the songs themselves that make this band who they are. The greatest band of all time.

Great for Beginners

This is a nice recording for folks who don’t know much about classical music, and would serve as a wonderful introduction. It covers centuries of great music in a very listener-friendly format. I am sure that I will use this CD in my music classroom. For a seasoned classical music lover, however, the CD proves a bit frustrating, including only segments of masterworks (not even the entire movement of the Holst). I bought the CD for a few recordings, which I truly enjoy and make the CD a worthwile purchase. But I found (and I think that most classical musicians will find) that I already had many of these works in their entirety.

Elegant recordings!

It should probably go without saying that it’s not just a matter of finding a classical CD with the songs you want, it has to be the ideal recording of the song. For example, you don’t just want to buy any random recording of “Beethoven’s Ninth”; you want to get the recording that has the right accoustics in the theater where it was recorded, the full orchestra, the conductor making the perfect dramatic emphasis during the critical moments in the music.

That’s one of the best reasons to buy this particular CD. It’s not just the fact that so many essential pieces of classical music are on this CD; it’s the fact that they are some of the greatest versions of these pieces you will ever find.

If I have any complaints about this compilation, it’s the manner in which some of these recordings are shortened down so as to accommodate 40 tracks on to the CD. The most frustrating track is a beautiful recording of my all time favourite Puccini song “Nessun Dorma” which fades out just before arriving at the dramatic final bars.

Nevertheless owning this CD became a must for me, after hearing the incredibly stirring version of Albanoni’s “Adagio in G minor”; one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard!

Most Aggravating Album in the World!

This CD is the first thing I ever returned to Amazon. It is an inferior product–selections cut off abruptly before the end, volume fades and returns in the middle of a cut…production values are pure schlock here. Maybe I should have expected as much from such a sophomoric title.
