The Walt Disney Company is not long ago giving out refunds for parents who have purchased the Baby Einstein Disney DVDs in the US and in the end found them not worth the price. This Baby Einstein Disney DVD was made with the goal of turning babies into geniuses like Albert Einstein. It almost followed the recent exploration in regards to baby’s growth intervention through music entertainment. In fact, it is a profitable market in America today that is worth $250 million. These Disney DVDs command it all making third of all babies in the US who are underneath two years old have a Baby Einstein DVD. It seemed to be an interesting concept. However, why does the Disney Company giving out refunds? Did the DVDs turned out to be a flop? Well, the scientists who conducted the exploration were faulty and they themselves have admitted it. Albert Einstein as a child was actually kind of dyslexic. He was not capable to learn speech until he was closely 3 and did poorly in his classes. New exploration now shows that television is in fact not good for children learning speech or anything at all. Where did this fiasco started out in the firstborn place? About two decades ago, researchers in the field of neuroscience begun to come up with a theory with regards to the development of a humane brain from childbirth to two years old. They speculate that there is something going on with the brain for the duration of those crucial years. A newborn is considered putty in the hands of the environs where it find itself in. The baby’s brain supposedly molds itself in direct response to stimulation received from the environment. This stimulation may be said to come from parents, friends and other children even objects are the components that influence the baby. Stimulation might actually work in helping your child become a genius, but it can’t come on DVDs alone. It has to be with at least one real person and parents play a great role here. The art show puts animated characters into classical art, but often you don’t look at the actual art very much. For example, there are cute creatures in a tree, but then Van Gogh’s Starry Night is flashed on the screen at the very end. There are animated frogs that jump around in Monet’s lilypad picture, but you mostly see the frogs, not the art. That said, I realize this is for babies, not an intensive intro to art. I think the kids will recognize the pictures later as ones they’ve seen before. The animations are cute, but not too cheesy as another reviewer thought. Plus all of the dvds have good music (mostly classical) for each scene. The kids go around the house humming classical music. So if that’s a bad thing, don’t get these dvds. Frankly, I think you could do a lot worse as far as kid’s dvds go! My one complaint is that the baby voice they have to announce each selection is often hard to understand. My 2 year old repeats each one, but she usually says it wrong because the baby/toddler doesn’t pronounce it very well. 25 of 25 people found the following review helpful. 1.The music is the real deal, not a “baby” version. In addition to a ton of classical music, there’s also Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Mambo, etc. 2. The animation is really cool! My husband is an artisit & he loves Classical Baby – he refuses to put on Baby Einstein when he’s home. 3. It’s WAY cheaper! I spent $20 dollars for THREE videos instead of $45-60 for three Baby Einstein. 4. Besides music, it also has famous art & dance 5. It’s a lot more interesting for parents! Just my little plug. I stopped buying any more Baby Mozart, Baby Bach or Baby Beethoven & now give Classical Baby to my pregnant friends!
